The head of the National Center for Disease Control addresses the citizens with two recommendations. Amiran Gamkrelidze voiced the messages at a press conference held after the meeting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council of the Government.
"The first message is to intensify wearing of face masks. We have a very good tendency, but it is desirable to increase the rate to 95%, which will significantly reduce COVID cases. Please wear the mask correctly. The second message – expending testing is very important along with the existed restrictive measures. Currently, our goal is to do 20,000 tests a day, and if we can do that, then the new target will be to expand even more," said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
He urges the citizens to come to the COVID centers and take quick antigen-based tests, which answer is within 20 minutes.
"Take the advantage of this offer, testing is available in more than 150 places and it is free. If you have a symptom, go to the COVID-center and conduct a test,” said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
