On November 7, an international banking forum titled “Regional Challenges and Opportunities” will be held in Yerevan, focusing on cooperation with European banks.
The forum, organized by the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), will open with remarks from UBA Chairman Daniel Azatyan and the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan. Greetings will also be extended by the President of the Georgian Banking Association, Alexander Dzneladze, and István Lengyel, the Secretary General of the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe.
Key topics for discussion include the integration of the banking systems of Armenia and Georgia with European markets, the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, correspondent banking, and capital markets. Special attention will be given to sustainable financing in line with European standards.
The Georgian delegation at the forum will include several high-level experts:
- Levan Gogoladze, ESG/SF Coordinator for the Georgian Banking Association, who will moderate a panel discussion on sustainable financing;
- Mikheil Kapanadze, CEO of the Open Banking Project of the Georgian Banking Association, who will present on open banking.
The forum program will feature two panel discussions, bilateral meetings, and a press conference for journalists.
