Turkey's Anadolu Holding plans to construct a 25-megawatt wind power plant in Georgia’s Kharagauli Municipality, near the Rikoti highway.
The company has submitted Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documentation and is awaiting a permit from the Environmental Supervision Department.
The wind farm will feature four Goldwind (GWH171) turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW. The turbines, with 105-meter towers and 171-meter rotors, operate in wind speeds between 2.5 to 24 m/s.
Anadolu Holding, active in Georgia's energy sector since 2009, previously invested USD 200 million in the 87 MW Paravani HPP, launched in 2014.
If approved, the Rikoti project would become Georgia’s second wind power plant, after the 20 MW Kartli wind farm, which currently remains the only operational one in the country.
