“Anaklia, as a tourist destination, has somehow been forgotten,” Marina Todua, founder of the White House in Anaklia, told BMGTV. She said the resort has seen little recent tourism development despite its unique coastline and significant potential.

Todua said this year’s hotel occupancy was affected by frequent rain and infrastructure problems. She highlighted the long-standing lack of lighting on Anaklia’s pedestrian bridge and boulevard, saying the darkened area hurts the resort’s appeal and limits visitors’ options during periods of bad weather.

According to Todua, local restaurants can adequately serve the existing tourist flow, but the main problem is the lack of visitors. She said foreign tourists are largely absent, with the majority of the hotel’s guests now being domestic travelers from Georgia.

Todua believes Anaklia needs new tourism offerings and improved infrastructure to attract more foreign visitors and ensure steady growth. White House Anaklia plans to close for the season on September 15, partly due to lower activity and planned renovation and fire-safety work.
