Armenia's 12-month consumer price index in February 2023 amounted to 8.1%, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported. It said compared to January 2023 prices rose in February by 0.1%
According to the NSC, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were up 9.8% in February 2023 compared to February 2022.
Alcohol and tobacco products went up 9.3%. Prices of clothing and footwear rose by 7.7% and utilities upped by 7.52%. Household goods, appliances rose by 13.3%.
Prices of health services rose by 4.2%, transportation prices by 2.2%, communications prices upped by 0.6%, recreation and cultural events' prices grew by 12.6%, education fees by 4.7%, the cost of visits to restaurants and staying at hotels grew by 9.4% and services by 7.4%.
According to statistical data, prices of non-food products in February 2023 were up 5.4% compared to February last year.
Armenian government's growth projection for 2023 is 7%, while inflation is set at 4% (±1.5%). Armenia's economic activity was up 10.5% in January 2023 from January 2022. The Central Bank expects inflation to stabilize around the target 4% in the second half of 2023, ARKA reports.
