Fady Asly, the Chairman of the ICC Georgia declares, that the attendance of EU ambassadors at the first session of the newly elected parliament in Georgia is contrary to European values. The head of the ICC published a port on his official Facebook page.
"Any EU ambassador who attends the first session of the illegitimate Parliament would bring shame to European values and be a disgrace to Europe. The same applies to all other Western ambassadors in Georgia", - Fady Asly says.
Earlier on Thuersday, Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the For Georgia party, has called upon the diplomatic corps in Georgia not to attend the first session of the 11th Convocation of Parliament. He also called on Georgian citizens and supporters to express their dissent on the day of the session, asserting that the elections were neither fair nor democratic and that their results were unacceptable.
The first session of Parliament will be held on November 25, next Monday, despite the fact that the constitutional complaints over the elections should put a legal hold the formation of a new Parliament. The GD is also expected to sit alone in a new Parliament, as the opposition forces, which consider the elections rigged, have vowed not to enter and not to legitimize it.
