The head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, Armen Danielyan, held a meeting with Nicolás Pasamán, Consul and Head of the Commercial Section of the Argentine Embassy. The two parties explored prospects for bilateral cooperation in food product trade.
During the meeting, initiated by the Argentine side, they discussed the potential for importing meat, dairy, and other animal-origin products from Argentina to Armenia. Additionally, opportunities for exporting certain Armenian goods to Argentina were considered, given the presence of a significant Armenian diaspora there.
Armen Danielyan provided an overview of the requirements and regulations for importing goods subject to veterinary control into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), of which Armenia is a member. He clarified restrictions and outlined the procedures for registering enterprises in third-country registries.
As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to exchange regulatory documents governing these processes. The Argentine Consul expressed hope for enhanced collaboration between the two countries in food safety in the near future.
