On November 19, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Armenia, in a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Economy's press service, Deputy Minister Narek Hovakimyan also participated in the discussions, which focused on key aspects of economic cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Papoyan emphasized the importance of fostering relations despite the geographical distance between Armenia and Brazil, noting their shared goal of promoting mutual prosperity.
Special attention was given to enhancing trade and economic ties and deepening cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During the talks, the two parties proposed a bilateral agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments. Such an agreement would aim to facilitate the entry of Brazilian investors into the Armenian market and vice versa.
They also explored opportunities for Brazilian companies to operate in Armenia’s free economic zones, presenting a range of potential benefits for businesses.
A key topic of discussion was the presentation of the Crossroads of Peace project, which has the potential to become a cornerstone not only for regional economic cooperation but for broader international collaboration as well.
