On June 8, a business meeting between a delegation of entrepreneurs from the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UIEA) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce was held in Yerevan. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral economic relations.
According to the UIEA press service, the union's First Vice President, Nerses Karamanukyan, presented Armenia's business environment and investment field. He emphasized that cooperation with India could be developed in areas such as tourism, healthcare, textile, and food industries. Karamanukyan cited modern Indian water filtration technologies as an example, which could address water purification issues in Armenia.
The head of the Indian Chamber of Commerce branch in Tamil Nadu, honorary consul of Armenia in several regions, and head of the delegation, Shivkumar Eswaran, noted that the Indian Chamber of Commerce is 100 years old and has a high rating. According to him, the Indian government recognizes four pillars of trade, with the Chamber of Representatives being the first. Eswaran emphasized the importance of creating a comprehensive information field and organizing regular meetings, exhibitions, and business forums to ensure active interaction.
"Mutual recognition paves the way for business. This is an initial step. We are ready to implement joint programs," said the head of the delegation.
During the meeting, presentations highlighted India's achievements in industry, energy, healthcare, innovative technologies, textiles, and other areas. Following the meeting, UIEA's First Vice President Nerses Karamanukyan and the head of the Indian Chamber of Commerce branch in Tamil Nadu, Shivkumar Eswaran, signed a cooperation memorandum.
