Armenia and Russia discuss prospects for cooperation in the food production sector

During the opening of the event organized by the Russian Export Center (REC) on March 26 in Yerevan, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Economy Ashkhen Shirvanyan emphasized the significance of the potential cooperation between Armenia and Russia, particularly in the food production sector.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Ashkhen Shirvanyan highlighted the importance of developing partnerships in the food industry, stating that it would provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and achievements, ensuring high quality and reliability of products.

"These initiatives will contribute to further strengthening the trade and economic relations between the countries and promote the establishment of strong business ties," she said.

The event, organized by the Russian Export Center (REC), brought together 20 Russian manufacturers showcasing their products.

The representation of the Russian Export Center began its operations in Armenia in December 2023. REC aims to develop business communities in Russia and Armenia, facilitating the establishment and maintenance of contacts between entrepreneurs from both countries.

Earlier, BMG reported that Russia holds the top position in terms of trade volume with Armenia. In January of the current year, trade turnover with Russia increased by 93%, amounting to 861 million dollars in monetary value. The share of Russia in the structure of Armenia's foreign trade turnover also increased from 37% to 40.1% compared to the previous year.
