On August 27, a meeting was held at Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure to discuss the operations of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR), a subsidiary of Russian Railways (RZD).
Deputy Minister Armen Simonyan received a delegation led by RZD's Deputy General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SCR, Vyacheslav Pavlovsky.
The meeting focused on several key issues, including amendments and additions to the concession agreement between Armenia and RZD for managing the country's railway network. The parties discussed the need for measures aimed at improving the railway's operations and agreed on several provisions.
Armen Simonyan expressed gratitude to the Russian side for the prompt restoration of railway operations after the damage caused by the flooding of the Debed River in May this year, highlighting the importance of effective infrastructure management in emergency situations.
The Russian delegation also included SCR General Director Alexey Melnikov and representatives of the Russian Embassy in Armenia.
