On November 21, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Ricardo Martínez Vásquez. The parties discussed prospects for technological cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Mantashyan outlined the ministry's main areas of activity, ongoing programs, and strategic goals for the development of Armenia's technological sector. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of an industry strategy and legislative initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth.
The Armenian side shared its progress in digitalization, telecommunications, and space technologies. Achievements by Armenian companies in research and development (R&D), semiconductor design, and microelectronics were highlighted. Mantashyan also spoke about advancements in engineering education and the country's startup ecosystem.
The Spanish diplomat emphasized the significance of the technological sector for all branches of the economy, highlighting Spain's accomplishments in space technologies and artificial intelligence. The two sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on engineering education, space technologies, and artificial intelligence.
