Armenia and the EU Discuss New Climate Change Programs

Armenia's Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Vache Terteryan, met with representatives of the "EU4ClimateResilience" program, led by program head Oliver Schenwenger.

During the meeting, Terteryan highlighted the successful cooperation within various ongoing programs and expressed hope for further strengthening bilateral relations. Schenwenger thanked for the reception and explained that the visit aimed to discuss the main actions and strategic priorities of the program for Armenia.

He presented the "EU4ClimateResilience" program, aimed at decarbonization, climate resilience, and energy security in the Eastern Partnership countries.

The program is funded by the European Union and Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment and is implemented by GMHE/GIZ and OECD. Terteryan discussed the challenges of climate change, solutions, and the criteria for selecting beneficiary communities of the program.

Strategic priorities for Armenia were also considered, emphasizing the importance of logical continuation of previous programs.
