In Yerevan, Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Kazakhstan's Ambassador Bolat Imanbayev to discuss strengthening economic ties between the two countries. A key topic of the meeting was the potential opening of an Armenian Trade House in Almaty.
The parties explored prospects for bilateral economic cooperation, with a particular focus on investment opportunities in food security and agro-processing. Participants agreed that developing these sectors could help attract private investments and expand production capacities.
Armenia's Ministry of Economy reported that the meeting also touched on organizing B2B business meetings. These events aim to expand trade and economic relations and streamline the supply process of agri-food products between the countries.
Notably, this discussion takes place against the backdrop of significant growth in trade between Armenia and Kazakhstan. According to Armenia's Statistical Service, the total trade volume between the two countries exceeded $100 million in 2023. Particularly impressive was the growth of Armenian exports to Kazakhstan, which increased by 3.8 times to $71.32 million. Imports from Kazakhstan also showed positive dynamics, rising by 23.6% to $29.2 million.
