Armenia ranked 79th in the Energy Transition Index among 120 countries with a score of 52.7. This is according to the report "Fostering Effective Energy Transition-2024" by the World Economic Forum, analyzed by the Armenian research fund "Luys."
"Armenia's position in the Energy Transition Index is the worst result for the country in the past decade," the study notes. The decline is attributed to the insufficient efficiency of the energy transition process over the last 7 years.
The most significant drops were observed in the indices for "regulation and political commitment," "education and human capital," "innovation," and "finance and investment." Notably, the indicator for investments in renewable energy sources has significantly decreased.
Compared to neighboring countries, Armenia surpassed only Iran, falling behind Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
