On September 19, the Armenian government adopted a decision regarding the professional qualifications of transport managers.

At a cabinet meeting, new qualification requirements for specialists in this field were approved, along with the procedures for conducting exams and issuing relevant certificates.

This decision is part of a broader strategy to harmonize Armenia's legislation with European Union norms. Specifically, the new standards align with the requirements of the Quality Charter for International Road Haulage, which operates under the framework of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT).

The main goal of these innovations is to improve road safety in the context of cargo and passenger transportation. Armenian carriers will now be required to meet international standards, which is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of services provided and the overall road safety situation in the country.

Experts note that this government decision is a step forward in the development of Armenia’s transport sector and its integration into the international transportation system.
