Armenia to establish major crayfish breeding complex

On Monday, May 6, at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia in the presence of Minister Gevorg Papoyan, the signing of the first agreement to participate in the program "State Support for the Development of Industrial Crab Farming in Armenia for 2024-2026" took place.

According to the ministry's press service, the agreement envisages the creation of a large crab farming complex in the village of Vokhchi in the Amasia community of Shirak region with an investment program of about 300 million drams ($771 thousand). The complex is planned to produce 18 tons of crabs annually.

The state will provide compensation for 50% of the investment expenses.

The Ministry of Economy will monitor the implementation of the program and oversee its execution.
