On August 8, the Armenian government approved a €75 million loan from the French Development Agency (AFD).
According to Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan, the loan will support a program focused on three key areas: improving public financial management, strengthening the infrastructure of government securities and money markets, and developing new tools for business financing and ensuring more transparent governance.
The funds will be used to cover the 2024 state budget deficit, with the loan set to be repaid over a 20-year period. The program is being implemented in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
