Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will not participate in the joint session of the foreign ministers, defense ministers, and security council secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), scheduled for November 28 in Astana, according to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
The session, chaired by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and Chief of the Joint Staff Andrey Serdyukov, is expected to address the military-political situation in the collective security regions and the development prospects of the collective security system.
Armenia’s decision is linked to its previously announced suspension of participation in the CSTO. In February 2024, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared the de facto suspension of Armenia’s membership in the organization, citing the CSTO's failure to fulfill its commitments to the country.
