Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan presented the 2023 state budget execution report to parliament on June 12.
He noted that, based on discussions in parliamentary committees, comments in the media, and social media, the budget report does not generate much interest among the general public and does not receive the attention it deserves.
"We should be concerned about why broad segments of our society are not interested in the budget execution report, and why citizens are not asking questions about the expenditures. Perhaps our reports are too overloaded with numbers and complex formulations," the minister stated.
Hovhannisyan also commented on the behavior of the opposition, noting that they either cannot or do not want to engage in constructive criticism.
"As a result, the discussion is limited to political intrigues and unprofessional approaches," the minister added.
