On July 24, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Nora Arisian, the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia.
According to the Ministry of Economy, at the beginning of the meeting, the minister emphasized that Armenia and Syria are friendly countries with strong political relations. Papoyan noted that economic cooperation between Armenia and Syria has significant potential for development.
"Armenia is on the path of diversifying its economy, and in this context, we can further develop economic cooperation through joint efforts. Essentially, all our efforts are aimed at having a stable and developing country and, why not, a region," the minister said.
The meeting discussed opportunities for developing Armenian-Syrian cooperation in the economic sphere, strengthening business ties, implementing investment programs, boosting mutual trade, and increasing trade volumes.
Issues related to organizing international and specialized exhibitions and business forums were also raised.
