Armenian Stock Exchange: Corporate Bond Market Reaches $1.95 Billion in December 2024

The Armenian Stock Exchange reported substantial growth across all key indicators for December 2024. The volume of government bond placements totaled $120 million (47.3 billion drams), marking a 111.7% increase compared to the previous year. For the first time, an exchange auction worth $12.7 million (5 billion drams) was conducted.

The secondary trading volume of government bonds reached $17.2 million (6.77 billion drams), exceeding last year’s figure by 121%. A total of 58 transactions involving treasury bonds were executed.

The corporate bond market continued its steady growth, with its volume increasing by 56.5% year-on-year to $1.95 billion (768.6 billion drams). Corporate bond trading volume rose by 37% to $34.8 million (13.7 billion drams), with 817 transactions completed. A total of 153 corporate bonds are currently listed on the exchange.

REPO transactions also saw a significant increase, growing by 96% to $21.8 million (8.6 billion drams) with 68 deals executed. The equity market experienced an exceptional surge, with trading volumes increasing by 941% to $5 million (1.96 billion drams). Market capitalization rose by 35.6% to $1.11 billion (439 billion drams), with 149 transactions recorded in equity trades.
