The Ministry of Finance of Armenia has released information on the execution of the state budget for January-April 2024.
During this period, state budget revenues amounted to AMD 863.4 billion (over $2.2 billion), which is an increase of 9.3% or AMD 73.5 billion (around $200 million) compared to the same period last year.
State budget expenditures for the same period totaled AMD 817.1 billion (over $2.1 billion), marking an increase of 31.9% or AMD 197.4 billion (around $461 million) compared to the previous year.
Thus, for January-April 2024, Armenia's budget was executed with a surplus of AMD 46.3 billion (over $119 million), whereas in the same period last year, the surplus was AMD 170.2 billion (over $437 million).
BMG reminds that Armenia's state budget revenues for 2024 are planned at AMD 2.723 trillion (over $6.8 billion), with tax revenues and duties accounting for AMD 2.613 trillion. The expenditure part of the state budget is planned at AMD 3.206 trillion (about $8 billion), of which capital expenditures will amount to around AMD 695 billion (about $1.7 billion).
The budget deficit is expected to be around AMD 483 billion (over $1.2 billion), or 4.6 percent of GDP.
