On August 2, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan met with the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Françoise Jacob. Deputy Minister Narek Ohanyan was also present at the meeting, according to a report from the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Papoyan congratulated Françoise Jacob on her appointment and expressed his best wishes for her initiatives aimed at ensuring Armenia's stable economic development.
"Our priority is to expand our cooperative programs with relevant UN agencies to achieve goals in poverty reduction, environmental protection, and sustainable development," stated Gevorg Papoyan.
The parties discussed ongoing economic programs, the continuation of joint efforts aimed at economic development, and the potential to expand cooperation in trade, agriculture, and other sectors.
They also addressed efforts to create long-term stable living conditions for those forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Papoyan emphasized that the Armenian government is striving to overcome regional conflicts and aims to establish a new reality where countries are connected by active political, economic, and cultural ties. In this context, he presented the government's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, which could become a crucial component of both regional and broader economic cooperation.
