Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan clarified in an interview with BMG that Armenia's public debt is manageable and does not pose any concerns.
Minister Hovhannisyan emphasized the country's impressive achievements in managing its public debt over the past few years. Notably, Armenia successfully reduced its debt from 63% to 47% within a two-year period. Furthermore, the Minister highlighted a positive outcome: the increased share of Armenian-denominated debt, now hovering just below 50%.
These achievements, according to Minister Hovhannisyan, demonstrate the sustainability of Armenia's debt levels.
He pointed to recent credit rating assessments in the country's credit rating by rating agencies as further evidence of Armenia's fiscal stability. The Minister expressed confidence that Armenia will maintain its government debt below 50% by the end of the year.
