Askaneli is expanding its hospitality business and plans to open a new hotel under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham brand in Kakheti this March. According to businessman Gocha Chkhaidze, the $10 million project, located in Sanavardo, will offer premium services and welcome its first guests before the end of March, if final construction stages go as planned.
The new hotel includes 46 rooms, but one of its key attractions is a 150-seat restaurant on the fifth floor with panoramic views of the Caucasus mountains. The property is situated within a winery complex, surrounded by a traditional Kakhetian courtyard, offering guests experiences closely tied to wine culture.
Chkhaidze notes that the concept combines hospitality with winemaking, creating an immersive “livestream-style” environment for visitors. He also has long-term development plans, including a concert hall, an additional 100-room building, and possibly cottages, although he prefers to announce details only after the projects are fully executed.
In parallel with its hotel and restaurant expansion, Askaneli is planning innovations in wine production. Chkhaidze says the company may introduce a non-alcoholic wine line this year, using one of Askaneli's seven existing wineries for its development.
