According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the total assets of the country’s mandatory pension funds reached 959.5 billion drams ($2.46 billion) as of July 2024.

The asset distribution shows a clear preference for a conservative strategy: balanced funds hold 10.7 billion drams ($27.5 million), conservative funds account for 941 billion drams ($2.42 billion), and stable income funds hold 7.7 billion drams ($19.8 million).

The net asset value amounted to 957 billion drams ($2.46 billion). In the asset structure, cash and deposits make up 177.3 billion drams ($455.8 million), while bonds total 464.4 billion drams ($1.19 billion), of which 403.8 billion drams ($1.04 billion) are Armenian government bonds.

Collective investment instruments, including both equity and debt securities, are valued at 313.5 billion drams ($806 million). Other assets amount to 1.6 billion drams ($4.1 million).

The total liabilities of the funds are 2.42 billion drams ($6.2 million). Notably, the vast majority of assets (98.1%) are concentrated in conservative funds, reflecting a cautious approach to managing pension savings in Armenia.
