According to updated data from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, at least 4.8 million refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Europe, Ukrinform reports.

The UNHCR office presented the approximate number of refugees registered in 44 European countries, as well as updates on border crossings out of and back into Ukraine since February, as well as applications for temporary protection in Europe.

As of June 7, about 7.3 million people have crossed out and 2.3 million have crossed back into Ukraine.

According to the latest data obtained from the Ukrainian authorities and collected by UNHCR, at least 4.8 million refugees from Ukraine have been registered across Europe, including those who first crossed the border with neighboring countries and then moved to other states.

Of the 4.8 million Ukrainian refugees registered in Europe, 3.2 million have registered under temporary protection programs or similar national programs.

The Office also noted that across Europe, the largest number of Ukrainian refugees have registered in Poland (1.15 million), Germany (780,000), and the Czech Republic (366,000). In Russia, there are 1.1 million Ukrainians, UNHCR says.

Over the past week more Ukrainians returned than crossed out of Ukraine.
