"We will finish the first exposure – „Caucasus“ and we would like to open a new zoo after that", Zurab Gurielidze, director of the Zoo, told BM.GE about the process of opening a new zoo on the Tbilisi Sea.
He has said that the opening of the new zoo requires infrastructure readiness, including the installation of toilets and paths.
“At this stage some construction is still underway. Then we make a decision. The estimated date is not known; We will name the proposed date in the near future”, Zurab Gurielidze explained.
According to him, some difficulties were encountered in the process, but they were standard ones.
“The work is being done to the extent possible. There are problems and we can't do anything to it. Among them there is a permanent financial problem. Building a new zoo can be quite expensive. In addition to our own finances, we have funding from the City Hall”, said Zurab Gurielidze.
