In the I quarter of 2022, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 15.1% (190.3 Gel) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1.446, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, in the I quarter of 2022, the average earnings equaled to GEL 1.184 for women, while GEL 1.695 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 161 (15.8%) for women and GEL 221 (15.1%) for men. In the majority of sectors of economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women.
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 3.037 (increased by 24.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Information and communication – GEL 2.339(increased by 8.3%)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 1.963 (increased by 9.1%)
• Mining and quarrying - GEL 1.900 (increased by 15.9%).
In the I quarter of 2022, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 196.1 Gel (15.3%) and equaled to GEL 1.479. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Arts, entertainment and recreation (GEL 2.468, increased by 6.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Information and communication activities (GEL 2.380l, increased by 8%).
