The average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 10.4% (GEL 129) in 3Q2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1 368, - data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 2 234.9 (increased by 10.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Information and communication – GEL 2 193.7 (increased by 2.0%)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 2 003.6 (increased by 4.9%)
• Construction – GEL 2 003.1 (increased – by 6.8%
In 3Q2021, the average earnings equaled to GEL 1 106.4 for women, while GEL1 612.1 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 128.2 (13.1%) for women and GEL 139.6 (9.5%) for men. In the majority of sectors of economy the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women.
In 3Q2021, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by GEL149.7 (11.5%) and equaled to GEL 1 455.5. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Arts, entertainment and recreation (GEL2 336.2, increased by 60.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (2 GEL265.0, increased by 3.5%).
In 3Q2021, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by GEL 89.1(7.9%) and amounted to GEL1 219.9. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.
