In the Year 2022, the average number of employees equaled to 779.4 thousand, which is y-on-y 4.7% higher. Out of the total number of employees, 43.1 percent are female and 56.9% are male, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, 39.9% of total number of employees comes on large, 20.3% – on medium and 39.8% - on small businesses.
The total number of employed persons amounted 726.2 thousands (year-on-year 5.5% higher). The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled to 14 283.9 million GEL (year-on-year 25.8 percent higher).
In the Year 2022, average monthly remuneration of employed persons equaled to GEL 1 605 (year-on-year increase by GEL 258.3) while remuneration of employed women made up GEL 1 264 (year-on-year increase by GEL 199.6). Average monthly remuneration of employed persons by size of enterprises is as follows:
• Large business – GEL 1 822.4
• Medium business – GEL 1 862.2
• Small business – GEL 1 187.2
In the Year 2022, the trade sector (including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) has the highest share (38.1 percent) in the total turnover in business sector, followed by arts, entertainment and recreation with 29.1 percent share, manufacturing – 9.4 percent, construction – 6.0 percent, transportation and storage – 5.1 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – 3.1 percent and other sectors with 9.2 percent share.
