The average monthly salary in Armenia in the first half of 2021 rose by 5.4% compared to the same time span of last year, amounting to 196,400 drams (US$ 400), Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan said.
He said the average salary in the public sector increased by 3.9%, reaching 168,347 drams (US$343), while in the private sector the salary rose by 5.9% to 209,937 drams (US$428). However, real salaries in the context of 5.7% inflation decreased by 0.3% compared to the same period last year, ARKA reports.
The average monthly number of officially registered unemployed in the period from January to June 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 increased by 1.6%, amounting to 62,322 people, according to official data.
