The Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili declares, that the Azerbaijan side will allocate USD 100 million for the completion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway infrastructure. According to the Prime Minister, the new railway will be fully operational in 2024.
"As for the railway, we have record-high revenues and the volume of transported cargo is skyrocketing as well. We need to complete the modernization of the railway in the most efficient manner and to reach the adequate throughput to service the volumes targeted towards our corridor. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) project will be completed in 2024. We already reached an agreement with our friendly Azerbaijan and 100 MLN USD has been allocated to complete this project. Works are progressing in an active manner. 86% has already been done and this project will be officially inaugurated in 2024", - the PM said.
