The newly completed road bridge connecting the Bagebi settlement and University Street is now open for vehicular traffic. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze inaugurated the bridge.
According to Tbilisi City Hall, the bridge, which runs parallel to an existing pedestrian bridge, spans 260 meters and includes four traffic lanes. The total distance from Tskneti Highway to University Street is 532 meters. The project also included the construction of sidewalks, an outdoor lighting network with LED lamps, railings, insulation works on the roadway, and a drainage system.
Several layers of asphalt were laid, and access roads and traffic junctions were organized on both the University Street side and the Bagebi settlement side near the Tbilisi-Tskneti highway.
The construction adhered to international standards and began at the end of September 2021, concluding in late May 2024. The project had a total cost of GEL 36,400,000.
