The investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia published a statement, where it is written that the so-called bank accounts of specific persons involved in the case of "call centers" were seized.
The statement does not specify whose accounts were seized, but as it became known, that two Georgian employees of the American research center, the Atlantic Council ( Sopho Gelava and Eto Buziashvili), were restricted access to their bank accounts. Giorgi Noniashvili, Gelava's husband, wrote about this on Facebook.
“Regarding the case of so-called “call centers” under the investigation of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, taking into consideration the high public interest, the Service explains that, in accordance with the law, based on the relevant motion, the bank accounts of the specific persons involved in the case were seized by the court’s ruling.
As of today, investigation is underway and Service will periodically inform society regarding the progress and results of the investigation,” the statement reads.
