“Barbales Marani” is doubling its exports to the US market this year. Zviad Kordzadze, founder of the company, spoke about this with BMG.
According to him, due to the fact that “Barbales Marani” is a small production, the company sent 1,000 bottles to the US market as the first batch last year.
"We are doubling our exports to the US market. At the first stage, we sent 1,000 bottles of wine last year, and this year, in May, 2,000 bottles of wine will be sent.
It is worth noting that the wines that are being sold to the US market have won medals at one of the most prestigious competitions. In particular, Lechkhumi Tsolikauri and Qvevri Tsolikauri. They will be presented in the US market somewhere in the range of 10-15 USD," - Zviad Kordzadze said.
According to the founder of the winery, in addition to the US market, the company's wine is represented at "8000 Vintages" in Berlin. In parallel, negotiations are underway with Asian markets, in particular with Korea and Japan.
Given the increased export interest, the winery plans to double its productivity and to increase the annual production to 20,000 bottles.
“Barbales Marani” is also sold on the local market, including in “8,000 Vintages” and several restaurants. “Barbales Marani” was founded in 2014 and annually produces 10,000 bottles of wine.
