The average price of blueberries has increased by 15–20% in 2025, according to Tornike Panjavidze, President of the Georgian Blueberry Producers Association. He shared this information during an interview on BMGTV’s “Business Morning” program.

Panjavidze explained that the price hike is linked to a reduced global harvest, mainly due to unfavorable spring weather in the Northern Hemisphere.

“There has been a relatively high price trend in the global blueberry industry, the same has been observed in Serbia, and now in Poland. Weather-related challenges reduced yields worldwide,” Panjavidze said.

He noted that blueberry prices in Europe and Russia remained generally stable. In markets like the Netherlands and Poland, prices did not fluctuate significantly throughout the season.

“In Europe, farmers receive an average of 5 to 5.5 Euros per kilogram from blueberry sales. It’s a stable market, there was neither an excessively high price at the beginning of the season nor a dramatic drop at the end,” he explained.

As for Asian markets, including India, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, Panjavidze considers them niche and growing destinations, where ultra-premium quality blueberries can be sold at higher prices.
