The broadcast of Russia's Channel One on Armenia's public multiplex has been temporarily suspended, announced the country's Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

"According to the existing agreement between CJSC 'Television and Radio Broadcasting Network of Armenia' and JSC 'Channel One. World Network,' Channel One failed to fulfill its contractual obligations, accumulating a debt of 2.5 months. The broadcast of the Russian channel on the public multiplex has been temporarily suspended until the debt is fully paid off," the minister told the state agency Armenpress.

Approximately two months ago, the broadcast of the programs "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" and "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" on the RTR-Planeta channel multiplex was suspended in Armenia due to "ongoing violations recorded in the region."

Additionally, last fall, Armenian authorities criticized Channel One for "offensive and completely unacceptable remarks" made about high-ranking officials of the Republic.

Through the public multiplex in Armenia, Russian channels Channel One, "Culture," and "RTR-Planeta" are broadcast.
