Black Sea Petroleum (BSP)’s oil refinery has received Libyan-Origin crude oil. According to video footage obtained by BMG, the tanker Kriti Legend arrived in Georgia from Libya on August 28, and as of today, the unloading of the crude oil has begun.
On August 25, BSP confirmed that it had replaced its Russian-Origin crude oil feedstock and that, since August 24, the company had been fully processing crude oil of non-Russian origin.
Before receiving the Libyan-Origin crude oil, In July BSP began receiving and processing Kazakh-Origin crude oil, which was also reflected in Georgia’s official foreign trade statistics published by Geostat.
According to a statement issued by BSP on July 31, the company was expected to fully replace its Russian-Origin crude oil feedstock starting in August. At the time, BSP said it was expecting additional volumes from Kazakhstan, which was to be followed by the start of imports of Libyan-Origin crude oil, Which by August 30 is already in Kulevi.
According to the company’s previous statement, BSP has signed a crude oil supply agreement with Libya covering the period through the end of 2027.
