Oil shipments through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline decreased by around 100,000 tonnes in June 2026 compared to the previous month, reaching 2.1 million tonnes, according to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. In the first half of the year, BTC transported a total of 12.7 million tonnes of oil.
The Baku-Supsa pipeline remained suspended in June. The Georgian government has said that, under an agreement with Azerbaijan, the pipeline is expected to resume operations this year.
From July, BP transferred BTC’s operatorship to SOCAR, ending BP’s role as operator of both pipelines running through Georgia — Baku-Supsa and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan.
BTC’s current shareholders include SOCAR (32.97%), BP (30.10%), MOL (8.90%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5%), TotalEnergies (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%), ONGC Videsh (3.1%), ExxonMobil (2.5%), and INPEX (2.5%).
