The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC), 2.6 million tons of oil were transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline [BTC] in April 2023, that is exactly the same volume as in March.

Official statistics show that in April, the Western Route Export Pipeline [WREP], or the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline, is not still functional, and only 0.1 million tons of oil was transported through this pipeline in February. In total, up to 10 million tons of oil were transported through BTC and WREP oil pipelines in four months of this year.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline is the second-longest pipeline in the world. Its length is 1768 km; of which, 229 km pass through the territory of Georgia. Oil has been transported through this pipeline since 2005.

The construction of the Western route export pipeline, which is known as the Baku-Supsa Oil Pipeline, is the first investment made by the international oil consortium in Georgia and has been operating since 1999.
