Georgia imported 2,710.7 tons of buckwheat in January–April 2026, worth $1.44 million, according to official data. This marks a 24.7% increase in value compared to the same period in 2025, when imports stood at around $1.1 million, while volume rose only slightly by 1.2%.

Russia remained the dominant supplier, accounting for nearly the entire volume - 2,710.6 tons worth $1.438 million. A very small amount, just 100 kilograms, was imported from Poland for $500.

The data shows that while import volumes remained relatively stable, overall spending increased significantly, reflecting mild price pressure in the market.

The average import price remained almost unchanged, rising slightly from $99.7 to $99.8 per ton, indicating that the increase was driven mainly by volume and supply structure rather than major price shifts.
