Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that a dedicated public transport lane will be created along the stretch from Vakhushti Bridge to Saakadze Square, with work starting at midnight on November 28. He emphasized that despite the new bus lane, the total number of vehicle lanes will remain unchanged.
According to Kaladze, the project also includes the installation of pedestrian islands to improve safety, as well as new road markings, signs, traffic lights, and landscaping.
The works, carried out jointly by the City Infrastructure Development Service, the Transport and Urban Development Agency, and the Environmental Protection Service, will take place exclusively at night due to heavy daytime traffic. The project is expected to be completed within two weeks.
