European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) writes about company Badagi, which produces Georgian traditional sweets Churchkhela, noting that the EBRD helped them navigate the challenges of a growing organisation with expert advice.
"Have you every heard of churchkhela? Well they're the Georgian version of healthy snickers.
Made of grape juice, nuts and flour, they are a staple of any Christmas and New Year's eve dinner table, and you'll find them hanging from the frames of every market stall around the country.
A leader in the local churchkhela market, Badagi sources the raw materials and ingredients from local farmers in Kakheti to make these sweet treats. Badagi has four retail stores in Tbilisi and one in Batumi and has even expanded to fast food chains like Wendy’s and Dunkin’ Donuts.
When Badagi's growth surged, we helped them navigate the challenges of a growing organisation with expert advice. Business advice enabled them to hire and train new staff, expand their production facility and open four new branches", - the EBRD says.
