Business Sector Turnover Up By 33.2% In 1Q2022

In 1Q2022 compared to the same quarter of previous year the volume of business sector turnover increased by 33.2 percent and amounted to GEL 38.6 billion, - show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office Of Georgia (Geostat).

As of the report, in the I quarter of 2022, 66.4% of total turnover comes on large and 15.1 percent – on medium businesses while 18.5% is distributed to small business. A small difference is in case of total production value: 49.1% comes on large, 23.4% – on medium and 27.5% on small businesses.

42.6% of total number of persons employed comes on large, 20.5% – on medium and 37.0% - on small businesses. The total number of employees amounted 637.1 thousands (year-on-year 8.7% more). The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled to 2 889.9 million GEL (year-on-year 25.7%
more).

In the I quarter of 2022, average monthly remuneration of employed persons equaled to GEL 1 479.7 (year-on-year increase by 196.2 GEL) while remuneration of employed women made up GEL 1 186.8 (year-on-year increase by 168.2 GEL). Average monthly remuneration of employed persons by
size of enterprises is as follows:

• LARGE BUSINESS – GEL 1 566.5
• MEDIUM BUSINESS – GEL 1 776.5
• SMALL BUSINESS – GEL 1 170.9

In the I quarter of 2022, the trade sector (including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) has the highest share (36.6%) in the total turnover in business sector, followed by arts, entertainment and recreation with 30.4% share, manufacturing – 10.6%, construction – 5.0%, transportation and storage – 4.9%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – 4.3% and other sectors with 8.3% share.
