A total of 1 160 413 voters have cast their ballots in the Georgian municipal elections as of 15 p.m. today – Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) reports.
This means that 33.18% of eligible voters have voted so far.
CEC calls on citizens to be more active and use the time left to vote since the precincts will be closed at 20:00 pm and the elections officially end.
Krtsanisi election district #4 exercises a pilot project which means that casting ballots are digitized and voters are using digital technologies to vote.
As the Speaker of the Central Election Commission (CEC) explained, the citizens at this precinct are voting with the special technology, which counts the results right after the polling ends.
“Ballots on these districts will be re-counted by the CEC members as well” – Natia Ioseliani said.
