Cafe Daphna has expanded its network with a new location on Samgebro Street in Tbilisi’s Meidan area. Co-founder Nikoloz Mameishvili told BM.GE that the restaurant opened this summer and is currently operating at a normal level of activity.
The new location is the chain’s third restaurant, with two branches in Tbilisi and one in Batumi. The Meidani location currently employs around 30–40 people, while the company continues to recruit staff.
According to Mameishvili, the restaurant is particularly busy with tourists during the daytime, more so than the branch on Atoneli Street. In the evening, however, Georgian customers account for a larger share of visitors than tourists.
“We opened during the summer and it is operating quite well. Since Meidani is a highly tourist-focused area, the vast majority of daytime visitors are tourists, while more Georgians come in the evening,” Mameishvili said. He added that the company is not disclosing the investment amount for the new location at this stage.
