The Board of the Central Bank of Armenia decided on December 10 to reduce the refinancing rate by 0.25 percentage points to 7%.
According to the Central Bank’s press release, the Lombard repo rate has been set at 8.50%, while the deposit facility rate stands at 5.50%.
The regulator has been gradually lowering the key rate since June 2023 to enhance the availability of financial resources in the economy.
This follows a prolonged period of monetary tightening: from December 15, 2020, the Central Bank steadily increased the refinancing rate from 4.25% to 10.75% to curb inflation.
