In his latest interview with The CheckPoints, Andrzej Malinowski, CEO of VEON Georgia, discussed new leadership directions that emerged from the pandemic year.

According to him, Beeling had carried out comprehensive risk analysis in all other commercial organizations. "I think most companies in risk analysis would never have considered such a massive, global-scale pandemic. We are no exception. The difference between our approach and that of other companies is that we have never been a team based on office work. Our business allows us to work from anywhere in the world," - he said.

Malinowski mentions that the company's corporate culture stands on such a free approach. Consequently, gradually switching to a fully remote working mode during the pandemic was one of the easiest tasks to accomplish. "The backbone of our organization is the high degree of trust. Our main value is to achieve the set goals and fulfill the imposed obligations. Consequently, it does not matter who spends how many hours in the office or who works from where. The key is to generate quality results promptly," - he stated.

Andrzej Malinowski also assessed the ways businesses can survive the current crisis. According to him, it does not matter the scale of the crisis. The manager, together with the team, must have a thorough understanding of the main goal - that is, the answer to the reason one wakes up every day.

"If the goal is identified and fully understood, it will inevitably become a major driving force and a key component of survival. Top management is tasked with being the tone-giver, making the whole team more motivated. I have the honor of working with people who feel an identical degree of responsibility towards customers. If we cannot provide adequate services and negative business results, we will not feel comfortable doing the job properly. It is this common understanding that allows us to be in a state of constant development" - he added.
